Bath Half Marathon, Sunday 11 March 2012The Council have asked us to publicise the arrangements for this year's Half Marathon. They are largely unchanged from 2011. Please click here for details. Come Dine With MeThe hugely successful show takes place over five days with five strangers, from all walks of life, taking turns to host the perfect dinner party for each other. At the end of the week the most impressive host wins a £1,000 cash prize. We are coming to the Bath area soon and we are currently looking for people to take part in the show. See the poster here. Bath BID rangersThe City Centre Manager, Andrew Cooper, has asked us to publicise the work of the five rangers now working for the Business Improvement District. They operate in an area roughly from the station to Royal Crescent, and across to the Holburne Museum. Although paid for by the business community, they would no doubt respond to requests in the area from residents. See the attached information. Bath Half Marathon 11th Match 2012 - Road ClosuresThis map gives notice of proposed arrangements for next year’s Bath Half Marathon. A summary of the proposed road closures and parking suspensions along the course route and diversions routes is attached. The half marathon starts at 11.00am, with road closures being in place on the course route from 09.45am to around 3.30pm. See here for more information. Bath announced as part of London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay RouteResidents and visitors are being invited by Bath & North East Somerset Council to welcome the Olympic Flame as Bath has been chosen as one of the 'Communities on Route' when the Torch travels through the South West on 22 May 2012. Savings on Communal heating SystemsOne of our members' members, Tim Wynn-Jones, works for a carbon reduction company called Sustain (www.sustain.co.uk), and they run an entirely funded programme to insulate communal heating systems for residential property. Changes to your recycling and waste collections over Christmas and New YearWe try to keep disruption of our waste and recycling services to a minimum over the festive period. There are no collections on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 December 2011, so if your usual collection day is a Monday or Tuesday then these changes will affect you. See here for more information. Performance Reward GrantThe Council has announced application details for the new Performance Reward Grant, which enables local organisations like residents associations to apply for grants of up to £5,000.
