Planning

planningFoBRA takes an interest in planning policies which affect the city of Bath, and in planning/listed building applications which have an impact wider than the immediate locality of the development. (More local projects are left to member associations, who are free to raise them with the Federation if they think they are of particular importance.)

The full FoBRA committee meets approximately every two months, and before every meeting a small Planning Sub-Committee meets to consider recent developments and drafts a planning report for members to study. This is then discussed in the full meeting and any necessary action agreed.

Some projects which we are currently monitoring include the future of the Recreation Ground, the Bath Transportation Package, the Railway Station upgrade, and the proposed new supermarkets on the Bath Press site and the Homebase site. We also take a close interest in the B&NES Core Strategy, and the draft National Planning Policy Framework.
